Motherhood Thoughts

  •  After becoming a mother, the crazy drivers have seem to come out of the woodwork. Must be my protective side coming out.
  • The lazy boy is my new best friend. I have a glider but I like the arm cushions of the lazy boy.
  •  The Lord gave me a baby and a new pet. Rita the duck made a nest in our window well. She has about 10 eggs. My mom says it my opportunity to minister grace to a woman in need. I threw her some bread which a crow quickly stole. Don't worry, I marched right back outside and threw two more slices into her nest.
  •  River usually will pee on you if you change him between 7-8pm. Also he loves to be held facing out so he can see the world.
  • Everyone has opinions such as "an epidural will be your best friend" or "an epidural will potentially harm your baby and the baby will come out loopy". Other topics: demand feeding vs schedules, vaccines vs no vaccines, pacifiers and nipple confusion, weight gain, use of certain baby products and lots of other things. While I won't share my opinions on all these, other people will share theirs. My best advice is do your own research and do what's best for your family. Lots of advice for me only caused worry.
  • While we are not offended by your opinion, we clearly can tell if you hate the name we choose by your facial expression and use of the words like "unique" or "that's different" :) I prefer you be like my brother and straight up say that your not quite sure you like the name.
  • Lastly, I couldn't do this without the taller of my two handsome men. He is a wonderful dad even when he makes up random songs to sing to River with no rhyme and sometimes no rhythm. David you will always be my leading man and the love of my life!!!

River Jon Vande Zandschulp

River Jon Vande Zandschulp is here! We are so blessed and our minds cannot even grasp the reality that he is our son. What a miracle! He came into the world weight 9lbs 9.6oz and 21.5 inches long. I don't know how to birth any other size baby so having a "bigger" baby isn't a shock to me. Lots of our hopes for labor, didn't turn out but I can honestly say I have no regrets. I had wonderful nurses, a calming mother and an EXTRAordinary husband to help me through. Now we are trying to figure out feeding and nap schedules. We appreciate all the continued prayer as everything is still new to baby and us.
